Why we love them
We cannot speak highly enough of these Tobisho secateurs and its not just us. Britain’s favourite gardener, Monty Don also states that Tobisho secateurs are his favourite in a telegraph article.
Manufactured in the mountains of Yamagata, a prefecture on Japan’s Honshu Island, these secateurs come steeped in tradition.
Made from Yasugi steel with its high carbon content, they offer a great balance of strength and ease of use. A single piece of high quality steel is used to forge each side of the secateurs. This ensures the integral strength from the blade to the end of the handle.
The specially designed blades reduce cutting friction for a razor sharp, quick, easy cut. The ease of use reduces strain on the wrist when cutting through material.
Finally, these secateurs carry the distinctive Tobisho red and yellow handles. The red is highly visible by day and the yellow by night, allowing you to locate your trusted secateurs. The coloured handle sleeves are removable if you prefer a more traditional look.
Available in two sizes to suit differing hand sizes:
- Tobisho SR1 – Standard 200mm total length, weight 240g
- Tobisho SR2 – Smaller 180mm total length, weight 220g
Presented in a box, Tobisho secateurs make a great gift for gardeners.
